Retirement GPS FAQs

  • 1. What is the Retirement GPS Program?

Retirement GPS is our comprehensive planning and investment management program designed specifically for individuals preparing for or navigating retirement. It integrates retirement income planning, Social Security and pension analysis, Medicare considerations, tax‑aware strategies, and ongoing portfolio management under a fiduciary framework. • 2. Who is the program best suited for?

Retirement GPS is typically suited for households with approximately $1,000,000 or more in investable assets. This level generally supports a fully integrated planning and investment relationship.

However, we may accept clients with less than this amount on a case‑by‑case basis, considering factors such as planning complexity and the overall fit for ongoing advisory services.

This approach aligns with regulatory expectations that advisers disclose minimum asset requirements and any conditions under which they may be waived.

  • 3. What does “fiduciary” mean in this context?

As a Registered Investment Adviser, we operate under a fiduciary duty, which means we are required to act in your best interest at all times. This standard is reinforced through formal disclosures, including our Form ADV, which outlines our services, fees, and conflicts of interest.

  • 4. What planning areas are covered in Retirement GPS?

    Your plan may include:

    • Retirement income strategy and withdrawal coordination
    • Social Security and pension analysis
    • Medicare and long‑term care considerations
    • Tax‑efficient planning
    • Insurance and risk management review
    • Estate planning coordination (with your attorney)

These areas reflect the core components of retirement planning described in your current service framework.

  • 5. How does your investment management process work?

We design your portfolio based on your personal benchmark, risk tolerance, time horizon, and overall retirement plan. Our process includes risk and cost budgeting, selecting appropriate investments, and ongoing monitoring to ensure alignment with your goals.

  • 6. What is the fee structure for the Retirement GPS Program?

The program uses a hybrid fee model that includes:

    • A one‑time onboarding fee to cover comprehensive financial plan development and implementation setup
    • An annual advisory fee based on Assets Under Management (AUM) for ongoing investment management and advisor support

All advisory fees are charged quarterly in advance, based on the account value at the start of each billing period.

  • 7. How will I know the exact fees before I begin?

We provide a written engagement agreement outlining all fees and billing arrangements before any services begin. Full details also appear in our Form ADV Part 2A, which we are required to provide to every client in plain English.

  • 8. Are there any additional costs I should expect?

While our advisory fee covers planning and ongoing management, custodians and investment products (such as certain funds or ETFs) may have their own internal expenses. These are separate from our advisory fee and are disclosed in your account documentation and/or fund prospectus.

  • 9. Can I terminate the advisory relationship at any time?

Yes. You may terminate at any time per the terms of your advisory agreement. Any prepaid, unearned advisory fees will be prorated and refunded according to the agreement and regulatory guidelines governing fee fairness and billing accuracy.

  • 10. What happens during the 20‑minute introduction call?

The introductory call is a no‑obligation conversation where:

    • You can ask questions about our services
    • We learn more about your goals and situation
    • We determine together whether Retirement GPS is a good fit

If it’s appropriate to move forward, we’ll outline next steps, including the onboarding process and fee structure.

  • 11. What if I’m not ready for ongoing investment management?

If you prefer planning plus ongoing accountability without asset management, our Financial Fitness Program may be a better fit. It offers a comprehensive plan plus monthly coaching, with a recommended 12‑month structure. (A separate page will detail that program.)

  • 12. How often will we meet or review my plan?

We typically conduct formal reviews at least annually, with additional meetings as needed—especially around life events, tax planning opportunities, or significant market changes.
